October 5 Celebrating Artists in Bloomington at the first Friday Gallery Walk. The exhibit of "Bloomington Women" at Gallery North on the square is incredible. Great portraits of Vi Simpson, Audrey McCluskey, Lou Brown, Charlotte Zietlow, Sandy Sabbagh, Tomi Allison, Vi Taliaferrro and more on display through the end of the month. | |

October 2 League of Women Voters Forum at Ivy Tech. I responded to ten questions posed by a panelists and the audience about my position on issues including the living wage ordinance, poverty in Bloomington, support for Jack Hopkins Social Service Funding, business development, global warming and local water treatment improvements. This event will be televised on CATS (channel 12) a few times per week before the election, beginning October 6 at 7 PM. September 27-30 LOTUS Music Festival. I was tearing tickets and ushering at the Buskirk Chumley for the Jeff Daniels concert then headed to the tent where Balkan Beat Box gave an energetic performance! More than 400 volunteers made this event possible. Thanks to all who helped make this event a success - see you again next year! | |

September 15 Celebrated Bloomingfoods Opening with 5K Walk Helped with registration at the 5K walk celebrating the opening of Bloomingfoods Westside grocery. More than 100 runners and walkers came out on a brisk morning for this benefit event for Middle Way House and Community Kitchen. Soul Food Festival. I enjoyed the music, food - especially the perch - and vendors at the Soul Food Festival at Karst Farm Park hosted by the Bloomington Black Business and Professional Association. The festival celebrates African American culture and traditions in Bloomington and Monroe County. | |
